ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit
On 31 May-2 June 2009, H.E. Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, attended the ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit in Jeju Island. As the Chair of ASEAN, H.E. Mr. Abhisit had the honour to co-chair the Meeting with H.E. Mr. Lee Myung-bak, the President of the ROK.
The Commemorative Summit, which organized under the theme “Partnership for Real, Friendship for Good”, not only commemorated the 20th anniversary of the ASEAN-ROK relations but also provided a good opportunity for the Leaders to discuss on how to further enhance the ASEAN-ROK relations as well as to exchange their views on how to undertake joint efforts to deal with regional and global challenges.
Apart from the ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit, H.E. Mr. Abhisit was also invited to deliver a keynote address at the opening ceremony of the ASEAN-ROK CEO Summit, which was attended by more than 700 leading businesspersons from across ASEAN and the ROK.
