With a view to promoting ASEAN among young children, the ASEAN Department is commissioning Baan Ittirit Company Ltd. to produce an animated cartoon as well as comic book titled “ASEAN Discovery”.

The story depicts the tale of “Blue”, a pink dragon-like alien from outer space, whose spaceship encountered an accident thus resulting in his (falling from the sky) meeting and making new friends who live in a place called “ASEAN Village”. It is here in the ASEAN Village where Blue, who is waiting for his spaceship to be fixed, will learn about ASEAN, thus transporting the audiences to also learn about the history of ASEAN, achievements over the past forty years, recent developments and the ASEAN Charter, as well as ASEAN’s inspiration to live as one ASEAN Community. We hope to have the ASEAN Discovery Cartoon and Comic Book as part of the reference source for ASEAN studies among primary school students.
